Tagpi-Tagpi is a social enterprise that works with women weavers in Apo Island, Negros Oriental to create hand-sewn plush toys based on Philippine flora and fauna.
The enterprise helps protect the marine ecosystem by bringing awareness towards marine life, preventing textile & plastic waste from entering our oceans, and empowering women from coastal communities.
Tagpi-Tagpi's animal plushies are made from old clothes. They include:
- Hammerhead Sharks
- Reversible Octopi
- Humpback Whales
- Thresher Sharks
- Orca Whales
- Mobula Rays
- Sea Turtles
- Hornbills
Made with old clothes, each plushie also empowers coastal communities an alternate source of livelihood for coastal communities.
